Notes:
- Although this is a sheltered paddle there are some tidal flows in the Kyles of Bute. For this reason it is technically a Grade B sea kayak trip. Please make sure to match the trip to the experience level of the group.
- The trip can be reversed to take account of tidal or weather consideration.

Weather Considerations
The last leg of the paddle can be relatively exposed to a southerly wind. This may* be a reason a reverse the paddle in such conditions
Tidal Considerations
The Kyles of Bute do have tides running each channel and meeting 1-2km east of burnt islands. The actual flow at any geographical point is very dependant on the width (and depth) of the channel at that point and varies greatly. The springs rate at the narrowest points could be considered to be 3kts, although this is only would only occur where water flows around an island e.g. Burnt Islands. Between Buttock point and Rubha Dubh it may reach 2kts springs and 1kt south of this
