Toilets, Changing & Car Parking:–
Best to unload kayaks at slipway by the waterboard building (pin below). There is Car Parking on Suffolk St opposite the launch point. There are public toilets near the Pier / Leisure centre – West Clyde Street Public Toilet.
Meeting points:
You can meet us at one of two places:-
|
1. If you have your own transport and equipment you can meet us at the waterboard building (opposite the Commodore Bar/ Hotel) in Helensburgh. Offload kayaks and then park on Suffolk Street. We are aiming to be on the water as close to 7.15pm as possible, although it may be a little after this. WHAT-THREE-WORDS ///Wiggly.Hiker.Yards |
| 2. If you wish to borrow a kayak/Canoe/SUP and/or equipment (paddle, wetsuite, spray deck, buoyancy aid) from the club then meet at the club container at Balloch, Clydebank. Aim to be here at close to 6:15pm as you can. We aim to leave as close to 6:30pm as we can. |
*Please note: Because we are never sure of exact numbers coming we can’t guarantee everyone will get the craft – kayak/Canoe or Sup – of their choice (We don’t pre-book these out so that people can turn up informally on the evening). While we do have a good range and number of boats, and generally there are enough of each type boat, you should be prepared to try something else in the unlikely event you don’t get your first choice. This might offer an opportunity to try something new – a SUP or shorter kayak for example.
