On learning that getting back into a kayak is not same as a canoe

Led by Richard & supported by Paul , the original trip was to be from Boden Boo to Dumbarton using the tide both ways , but wind strength led to a change of plan and instead a trip from Balmaha . 11 paddlers set out – Hannah, Mags, Fiona, Paddy, Arran, Kat, Agnes ,Liz, Paul and Richard ( and me) .

Yes you can stretch your legs while kayaking

The wind was still strong 3-4 ish but the group stayed together well and enjoyed the respite between the islands on route to our lunch stop on Wallaby Island . The loch was surprisingly quiet apart from a few tour boats and a couple of jet skis. After a wallaby hunt we made the return journey , the wind had eased slightly , and since we still had plenty of time we headed down to the Endrick and had a very gentle paddle there , very chilled . Then back to Balamaha for coffee and cake etc.It was a fabulous day out , with great company and lots of chat despite the wind .And Ospreys were spotted ! The photos tell the story much better than me .

Happy gang in calm waters
