Don’t miss out on your chance to be involved in this national campaign and annual celebration of all things paddlesport!
We are excited to announce that we are working together with British Canoeing and getting involved with an exciting nationwide canoeing event: National Go Canoeing Week! 28th May – 5th June 2016.
This event has been run within England for the last two years and it has been a huge success, with 10,500 people getting involved in 2015.
Go Canoeing Week is an annual celebration of all things paddlesport. It aims to get as many people out paddling as possible and, as part of the fun, everyone can log the miles they paddle during the week on an interactive website. This year the aim is to see if we can collectively paddle and log 30,000 miles. We hope your club will get involved and join in the fun!!!
There are two ways you can do this:
– Organise a Starter Session to welcome new paddlers into the sport
– Organise fun activities, trips, challenges or events to encourage new and existing paddlers to clock up more miles this week.
There will be a national marketing campaign, promotional resources available and a dedicated website to support the event, so it’s a great opportunity to promote your club and attract new members. The website is currently displaying basic information about the week but by the end of February this will be expanding and any activities and events that you register with us will be linked to from the SCA website, where your activity will be listed.
Any volunteers prepared to run half day, full day or evening sessions, please contact Sandy on
Thanks……….. Sandy
