Fun Weekend at Galloway Activity Centre, Dumfries

An opportunity for sea and river paddlers to come together at the same venue 🙂

The following itinerary is merely a suggestion, other options are available. :-

Friday Evening:

Arrive/Eat when it suits each person. Maybe a BBQ and a few beers

Saturday Activity 

(1) Paddle round the Mull of Galloway, a Grade C paddle involving a shuttle (under 1 hour drive from campsite)

(2) A river paddle

(3) A paddle and/or skills session on Loch Ken

Saturday Evening Activity 

(1) A Dark Skies Walk in Galloway Forest

(2) Night Cycle (bike hire available)

(3) Night paddle

(4) Campfire and wine/beers

Sunday Options (on Loch Ken)

(1) Hire a dingy for a sail & a splash

(2) Hire a windsurfing board

(3) Hire/take club SUP’s

(4) Paddle on Loch Ken

(5) Or paddle on the Solway Firth

Sunday Late Afternoon-Head home

Notes:

-Galloway Activity Centre at Loch Ken is a 1hr 45 mins drive from Glasgow

Three 6 berth Yurts currently available.

-Cost of Yurt £230 for 2 nights (£40/PP)

Yurts include pull out bed; small cooker & log burning stove

-Lots of alternative accommodation available including camping with tent or van.
