SUMMARY:ballachulish BONANZA!
DESCRIPTION:Following in the tradition of the longstanding Loch Awe Village Hall Weekends\, we are adopting Ballachulish Village Hall for a combined River and Sea weekend. \nThe location means there will be good options for both river and sea trips so there’s no excuse not to come and it should be a great chance to socialise whatever your paddling persuasion! \nWe’ll be staying in the hall so no tents are required but you’ll need to bring something to sleep on and under.  \nThe village hall has a small so we’ll eat breakfast and dinner on the Saturday communally. Let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.  \nBring your own food for lunches\, we’ll be right next to a co-op for grabbing supplies as well as a pub for post paddle debriefing. \nThe trip will be £20 per person to cover renting the hall\, plus a share of the grocery cost and usual fees for anyone needing to borrow kit. \nCome along and celebrate the end of a (hopefully) great summer of paddling on a trip that has something for everyone!

SUMMARY:AGM 2024
DESCRIPTION:The club AGM will be held on Wednesday 23rd October at 7.20pm at Partickhill Bowling and Community Hall (26 Partickhill Road\, Partick\, G11 5BY).  If anyone would prefer to attend the AGM remotely\, please contact  (info@dckc.co.uk) and we will do our best to also facilitate an online option (e.g. via Zoom or otherwise).\n\nAll members are welcome and encouraged to attend the AGM. As well as finding out more about how the club work there is the chance to bring up items and contribute to any discussions.\n\nWe have the hall from 7pm for a pre-meeting chat/tea/social and after the “business” we have a space for talks/video/slideshows/games or general chat if anyone wished to offer to prepare/present something. Email  info@dckc.co.uk  if you had something in mind!\n\nNew members of the committee are also very welcome – if you are interested in joining the committee please feel free to chat informally to a current committee member to find out what is involved. Being a committee member is not too onerous – we have a meeting once every 2 months – and is a good way to meet other folk within the club.\n\nWe look forward to seeing you all on 23rd October! If you can’t attend and would like your  apologies to be noted\, please contact the secretary on (info@dckc.co.uk).\n\nA link to the 2023 AGM draft minutes is a the bottom of this page Club Documents

SUMMARY:ROOTS Trip
DESCRIPTION:You have the basics of manoeuvring a sea kayak and keeping it going in a straight line. Now you want to get out into a coastal environment and experience the joy of sea kayaking. ROOTS sessions (Reaching Out Onto The Sea) will combine a short trip with some coaching input to help you start to develop the solid sea kayaking skills that will give you the confidence to sign up for club trips. Numbers are limited and you should notify your interest for any trip to the trip leader at least 1 week in advance. Please note\, the logistics of transporting kayaks mean that it will be necessary for you to have access to a vehicle with roof bars and / or be prepared to car share. \nLead: \nPat Smith
