DESCRIPTION:A multitude of options here but plan A : Leaving From Easdale and taking the Ebb tide along the east Coast of Lunga\, past the grey dogs and to come through the Corryvrecken at slack before heading up the West coast of Scarba and Lunga to camp on Garbh Eileach.  On the sunday we’d paddle around the Garvellachs and back to Easdale via Belnahua with the flood tide.  A truly world class area to Sea Kayak. \n

DESCRIPTION:This 2 day paddle launches from Ulva ferry on Saturday 29th June\, meeting at 1000 and returning on Sunday 30th late afternoon. Possible circumnavigation of Ulva and Geometra\, depending on conditions and skill level of the group. Camping on south shore of Ulva. Participants must be confident to paddle 20km. This journey is within remit for Grade A and is suitable for paddlers new to kayak camping. SUMMARY:Suilven Sizzler
DESCRIPTION:Note: the dates for this trip have changed slightly – it had been the previous weekend  \nA BBQ and Bivouac on top of Suilven.  Arguably the finest grade A inland trip in the Scotland.   We will aim to be on-the-water and paddling from Elphin at 1:00pm allowing time for travel and packing prior to this.    It’s a 9km paddle along Loch Veyatie before we pack rucksacks to climb up the mountain.  We plan to camp on top\, which rarely sees winds under force 4-5\, and so particular attention should be paid to checking tent guy ropes prior (smaller tents are also preferable as they tend to have less windage). \nNote: This is a combined kayak and hillwalking trip and requires a level of fitness suitable for climbing a mountain with reasonably challenging terrain. Having a BBQ on top of a mountain may present a few logistical challenges which can hopefully be surmounted with ingenuity and cunning. \n \n

SUMMARY:Fun at the Falls
DESCRIPTION:The Falls of Lora is an iconic location and one of the best fun play spots for sea kayakers! This will be a supported session for sea kayakers introducing the fun of the Falls of Lora on a gentle ebb tide\, and with some coaching and tips to help progress moving water skills in a sea kayak in a very safe location. Priority will be given to folk who have previously been on an “Introduction to Moving Water” course at Pinkston (or equivalent experience) and especially those who have attended the “Tide Race Trainer” sessions on 16th\, 23rd and 30th May. \nIn addition to lunch (essential!!) – helmets are needed (but can be borrowed from the club if you don’t have your own). Sea kayaks and paddles can of course also be borrowed. \nFish and chips / cake and coffee at the Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum on the way back is also an option for a post paddle refuel.

DESCRIPTION:Tuesday evening club sessions at Balloch Lomond. \n \nWeekly sessions at Loch Lomond across all craft – river kayak\, sea kayak\, open boats\, & SUPs.    Whilst focus is on building skills there are also opportunities to journey on the loch or maybe even along the river Leven. \nAs these sessions are popular\, to ensure you have access to necessary kit please arrive early as this helps to make the most of the time we have\, on the water. There is no requirement to book. Club fees are normally collected at the end of the session. \nMeeting point is container at Maid of the Loch\, Balloch [ Google Maps ||  What Three words ///trailer.mills.sandbags ] . The container is normally open for kit from 6.30pm. \nNOTE: In 2024 there may be evenings with a “breakaway trip” (a small group going to a different venue or possibly an “all-away trip” where everyone is going to a different venue. These will be published as soon as dates are confirmed. \n   \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Another tango with Islay
DESCRIPTION:Not to be defeated the plan is to have one more bash at Islay.      The plan would be to make camp over two nights and use one of the days to climb Beinn Bheigier\, Islay’s highest hill starting at Claggain Bay.  Whilst this trip has been planned on neap tide\, there is tidal flow in this area\, and for that reason this has been noted as a C trip. \nDue to limited ferry places and available camp sites numbers for this trip will be limited.   If you are interested get in quick – spaces will be allocated on a first come\, first served basis. \nTrip will be co-lead by Richard and Leigh. \n

DESCRIPTION:This is the final week of our three week development programme. \nAimed (but not exclusively!) at sea kayakers with ambitions of paddling in more adventurous waters\, this is a three week course taking advantage of the flow at Pinkston to build and develop the basics needed for paddling in moving water\, and culminating with a trip to the Falls of Lora on a gentle ebb tide (8th June). The usual Pinkston fee (£10 per night) will apply to the Pinkston sessions. Paddlers will be familiar with being rescued after a capsize. \nAt Pinkston\, we will use the club white water boats\, and will transfer the skills we’ve gained into our sea kayaks for the Falls of Lora trip. \nNumbers will be limited\, so don’t delay securing your place! And feel free to get in touch to ask any questions!
