SUMMARY:Pinkston Evening Session (1/2 Pump)
DESCRIPTION:Club night at Pinkston White Water Course\, providing opportunity to consolidate boat control skills on moving water. \nLevel of difficulty relates to number of pumps in operation – this will be decided on the evening dependent upon attendees.    Typically we start on 1 pump and then switch to 2 pumps midway through the session. \nThe flat water basis can also be accessed and is good for rolling practice or building confidence on moving water.

SUMMARY:AGM 2023 and Talks
DESCRIPTION:The club AGM will be held on Wednesday 11th October at 7.20pm at Partickhill Bowling and Community Hall (26 Partickhill Road\, Partick\, G11 5BY).  If anyone would prefer to attend the AGM remotely\, please contact  (info@dckc.co.uk) and we will do our best to also facilitate an online option (e.g. via Zoom or otherwise).\n\nAll members are welcome and encouraged to attend the AGM. As well as finding out more about how the club work there is the chance to bring up items and contribute to any discussions.\n\nWe have the hall from 7pm for a pre-meeting chat/tea/social and after the “business” we have a couple of talks/video/slideshows that will hopefully be enjoyable for all.\n\nNew members of the committee are also very welcome – if you are interested in joining the committee please feel free to chat informally to a current committee member to find out what is involved. Being a committee member is not too onerous – we have a meeting once every 2 months – and is a good way to meet other folk within the club.\n\nWe look forward to seeing you all on 5th October! If you can’t attend and would like your  apologies to be noted\, please contact the secretary on (info@dckc.co.uk).\n\nA link to the 2022 AGM draft minutes is a the bottom of this page Club Documents

SUMMARY:Awesome Ailsa Craig
DESCRIPTION:This is an ambitious trip out to Ailsa Craig\, that dramatic granite outpost\, with an overnight camp planned so that we can scale that iconic summit and truly explore the island and lighthouse! It’s a long\, open-water crossing of around 16km so we will need to keep our fingers crossed for a decent weather window. This is a Grade C paddle due to the committing nature of the trip.

SUMMARY:Falls of Lora Play Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Falls of Lora are famous (infamous?) for the accelerated flow of water through under the bridge\, allowing a great venue to learn and improve moving water and rough water skills. Both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend are a “red” (albeit a smallish red) tide with a good ebb flow starting from  around lunchtime\, allowing some acclimatisation as the flow builds. Folk are welcome to come for one or both days\, and the aim will be on enjoying the adventure of moving water in our sea kayaks. Helmets are essential as is the ability to edge and a willingness to get wet! Numbers will be limited. Anyone not sure\, please get in touch for a chat to find out what it’s all about.
