This is a One Pump night and as such is suitable for beginners wishing to experience kayaking in moving water. We have the venue booked from 7.30pm (flat water) and then the pumped course from 8pm. Changing rooms are not available. At this water level most paddlers will be able to safely navigate the course and learn the basics.
During all sessions the basin will also be available and includes the moving flat water section below the course and the stationary flat water part of the basin. Both sea kayaks and general purpose plastic boats may be used in the basin.
To comply with regulations related to the current Covid 19 situation all members wishing to attend will be required to book beforehand using the “store” option of the membership system, https://membermojo.co.uk/dckc. (See “Covid” tab of the club website for a detailed guide for how to do this). Members will also be able to book relevant equipment if required subject to availability. The charge per session will be £10 for course use and £5 for basin-only use. These charges include the use of club equipment if required. Members are requested to pay these charges by periodic bank transfer to the club account to avoid the necessity of individuals handling cash at each session. To encourage members to book well in advance the club is offering an advantageous season ticket rate of £70 for course use and £35 for basin use throughout. Season ticket holders will still be required to book each session.
