Arguably one of scotland’s finest bothies and certainly one of the most remote, Cruib Lodge sits on the west coast of Jura. Kayaking is in fact the only sensible way to get to this bothy. We will aim to take the 09:45 ferry from Kennacraig to Port Askaig to take up the North going tide out of the Sound of Islay to Cruib Lodge (22km). Back the following morning, again with the tide, to catch the 15:30 or 18:00 ferry from Port Askaig to Glasgow. An incredible two day trip. Grade C but get in touch as a good trip to break into the C grade if you have some paddle fitness 😉
Please note there is no Plan B alternative for this trip.
