Monthly Beginners Trip @ Outdoor Store
Jul 2 @ 9:30 am – 5:00 pm

So you have come to a few pool sessions or Tuesday night Loch sessions. You have done your capsize drill and managed to solve going in a straight line. What next? Come to one of our monthly beginners trips of course!

These are held once a month, usually the first Saturday or Sunday of the month and are run by one of the club coaches on a canal, sheltered loch, very gentle river. They give the opportunity to get enough experience to start going on more advanced A trips or Grade 2 river trips.

The first step is to contact the organisor! You should do this at least one week in advance so he/she has time to plan the day. It is useful if you know if you have transport and a roof rack as not all the coaches can tow a trailer! On the day you will be outfitted with kit (Buoyancy aid, wetsuit, cagoule) and looked after. You do need to bring lunch and and change of clothing as well as clothes to wear under the wetsuit/on your feet.

Price: £2 for the trip plus any equipment (£2 kayak, £1 other equipment). To a maximum of £5. For children there is no cost for the equipment.

Departing Glasgow at 7am  and arriving at Pease Bay 9.30am.  We can assess the sea conditions there and decide on the start of the paddle. As usual if anybody has any questions please ask.
