A great internet site to guide you through the creation of useful knots has been addded to the links page, Animated Knots by Grog found here at www.animatedknots.com, the site states that it is Better to know a knot and not need it, than to need a knot and not know it!

13/03/10 White Water Safety and Rescue Course
This course was run for us by Jim Gibson of Aquaplay Scotland www.aquaplayscotland.com over the weekend of 13 - 14 March 2010 and was subsidised by a grant from the SCA. This was an excellent weekend with some learning for the most experienced members of the club as well as those members who hadn't done that much white water paddling. The emphasis was on the practical application of the skills and, learning by experience in a safe and fun environment.... although as you would expect swimming in rivers in March was somewhat on the cold side, brr!
Lots of positive feedback about the course and some new skills to practise on river trips, a great weekend was had by all. Our thanks to Jim for his expertise and Graham for the accomodation.

23/02/10 Club Coach Development Funding Award
The SCA have awarded the club £250 towards a white water safety and rescue course to be held on the 13th/14 March. River paddling in the club has been neglected over the last few years but thanks to our inland coaches, Sandy and Graham it's now enjoying a revival.
Sandy and Graham will attend the course along with 4 others, David, James, Shona and Ian. These four will be taking inland 3 star this year and hopefully start on the coaching scheme.
The course will be run by Jim Gibson and based near Loch Awe.

19/02/10 New Web Pages Added
