Membership Benefits

Why join the club? Wouldn't the money be better spent as a down-payment for a new carbon paddle? Or that EPIRB you desire.

Paddle With Likeminded People. Meet other kayakers and make new friends while paddling the coastline of Scotland and beyond. Paddling with others adds a fun and interesting dimension to your favourite activity. Become a part of and contribute to the social fabric that is the Club!

Organised Club Trips. Our Club trips are run by members who are qualified Trip Leaders. These trips include short day trips, long day trips and overnight trips in a variety of locations, and aimed at specific skill levels. You'll find further details in the calendar with trips taking place in all parts of the Scottish Rivers, Coastline and Lochs. We are sure you will enjoy the scenery, the challenge, and the company.

Club Newsletter. Be kept up to date with all the latest news and developments in the club delivered direct to your inbox. If you don't have email - copies can be downloaded from the Document Download section of this website.

Skills Training. A number of training events are organised each year. You'll learn Eskimo rolling, rescues, tips, tricks and techniques from experienced club members who are also qualified instructors. You will become a safer paddler and get more enjoyment from being on the water. To find out more look out for the club coaches in the Red Tee shirts.

Significant Discounts. Several kayaking shops and suppliers offer discounts between 10% and 15% off kayaking accessories (and in some cases sea kayaks) purchased from their stores. Conditions apply. Please ask retailers for details.

Mince Pie Paddle. The annual not to be missed event, warm your mince pies after a short paddle before you set off to complete the unique challenge.

Star Awards. If you wish to undertake tests in accordance with the BCU star test scheme, training and testing can be organised.

Aquatic First Aid Certificate. Get up close to "Annie" and practice airway management, vital signs, spontaneous breathing, and watch her resuscitate with your help! First Aid is included as a bonus!
